What are the Licensing Requirements

As of January 1, 2001, all persons performing home inspections in Louisiana are to be licensed by the State of Louisiana. 
Licensing requirements are:
  • ​Background Check
  • 90 Hours Schooling
  • National Home Inspectors Examination Test
  • 30 hours In-Field Training
  • 10 Live Inspections
  • 8 Hour Report Writing / Standards of Practice Seminar
  • Errors and Omission and Liability Insurance
  • 20 hours Continuing Education Annually (30 hrs-1st year)
